Monique Mitchell Turner (Ph.D, 1999, Michigan State University) is an associate professor and the Director of the Center of Risk Communication Research at the University of Maryland . Turner's research program is focused on risk and health message design, and cognitive processing of health risk messages. Professor Turner is the immediate past chair of the Communication and Social Cognition Division of the National Communication Association (NCA) and serves on several committees for the Health Communication Divisions of both the NCA and the International Communication Association. Turner has published in such journals as Communication Monographs, Human Communication Research, Communication Studies, and Communication Research Reports.
