Dr. McDonald serves as the Coordinator of the National Disaster Risk Communication Initiative and President and CEO of Global Health, Initiatives, Inc. His pioneering work spans several fields, including ground-breaking work in risk assessment, consumer-empowered health systems, health information infrastructure, evidence-based medicine repositories, decision support systems, health-oriented community networking, memetics, and the prevention and management of large-scale social crisis. GHI is a health information and technology company focusing on enterprise engineering, the development and deployment of new health information infrastructures, telehealth applications, virtual health management systems, and disaster knowledge management systems. GHI was originally organized to act as a leader in the design, development, and deployment of integrated health information infrastructures and services. Today, it is also applying similar science and technologies to biodefense and homeland security.
