Dr. Dunwoody's recent research has concentrated on individuals' use of information to guide their judgments about environmental and health risks and on learning about science from the World Wide Web. She serves on the advisory committee of the Academics' Office on Public Understanding of Science. In 1994, she was elected a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dunwoody has served as a Fulbright Distinguished Lecturer in Brazil. Dr. Dunwoody earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Indiana University, a master's degree in mass communication from Temple University, and a doctorate degree in mass communication from Indiana University.
