Dr. Bruhn studies consumer attitudes toward food safety and quality and conducts educational programs that inform consumers about new products and new technologies. She directs the Center for Consumer Research (CCR), which focuses on consumer attitudes toward food safety and quality. Increased information on consumer attitudes and perceptions can increase the exchange between those who provide goods and services and those who utilize them. Projects have focused on new techniques, food safety, food labeling, nutritional issues, and produce quality. The research conducted by CCR generates knowledge that lays the basis for effective decision-making by consumers and for effective policy and actions by public and private organizations.
