Dr. Aldoory received her doctorate from Syracuse University (1998). She is
currently associate professor in the Department of Communication at the
University of Maryland. Her scholarship focuses on public perceptions of communication
about health risks, focusing particularly on differences by race, gender,
and class. Her current research projects include a funded study examining public
perceptions of bioterrorism in news coverage. Selected publications:
